Cohorted Beauty Box Review - May 2017

I've been waiting patiently for this months beauty box and it's true what they say good things come to those who wait. My beauty box arrived full of goodies that I actually NEED this month - happy days! The box was worth a grand total of £102 so I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth this month.

I know it’s basically half way through June and my June Cohorted box has actually arrived but I’m running a little behind on my posts! I am getting back on track though starting with my May beauty box review which in all honestly, I’m still not sure what my overall opinion of this box is despite having a whole month to decide.

The overall cost of the box was £92.00 so as always, great value for money when it just costs me £35.00. The first item alone was £35.00 and that was the ‘Vita Liberata Luxury Tan Trystal Minerals Sunkissed Bronzer with a Kabuki brush’. The brush is SO soft, words literally don’t do it justice on how soft it actually is. It’s designed to be used over a moisturiser and as it’s tanning, after a few uses it will leave you with a subtle and natural glow. When on holiday I don’t tend to wear foundation and I think this would be the perfect alternative to take with you for a natural bronzed face without the worry of finding a foundation to match your tan.

A new brand in May's box is Lin & Lo and their gorgeous lipstick! It's a bright red in the colour 'Real Red' and is so creamy and easy to apply but dries quickly into a matte finish! I have to say, the packaging on this lipstick is my favourite lipstick packaging I've seen. The lid has a magnetic finish with a satisfying click when popping the lid back on and just feels very sleek. The lipstick is really striking on the lips and has a really good matte finish. It seems to be smudge free and long lasting. The lipstick costs £19 which is rather pricey but I will definitely invest in some more of these lipsticks for sure.

Next up is an 'Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil' in the shade 'Naked'. Now personally I'm not the biggest lip pencils because I genuinely look like a clown once I've tried to apply it and smudged it round my lips and most likely ended up with it on my chin. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this lip pencil. I applied it as a base before putting on a lipstick and it kept my lipstick in place for a lot longer than it would normally last. The lip pencil does exactly as it says on the tin and glides onto the lips and doesn't drag when using which is what normally causes me to draw on my clown lips so for the first time, I'd done a pretty good job of lining my lips. This lip pencil is just travel sized and can be bought for £10.

The next product is from 'Betty Hula' and it's their 'Champagne & Spice Body Moisturiser' which retails at £12.99. The product is quite thick and is definitely more of a body butter than a moisturiser but it does the job. It's very hydrating and oh my gosh the scent, I just can't put my finger on it and no it isn't champagne... it smells so familiar and it is really bugging me as to what it smells like but I love it!

The final product in May's Cohorted beauty box is the 'Loewe Aura Moisturising Body Lotion' with costs £15.00. It's lightly fragranced and smells very clean, I could imagine this is the sort of lotion you get alongside a specific perfume which would match the scent. I don't actually think I'll use the lotion to keep me moisturised but more to give myself a base scent for the day when I don't really want to put on perfume.

Now I'm not the biggest fan of skin care products as I don't get through them enough to justify ever buying them so to have two in one box is quite the disappointment as it's just another two items to place in my ever growing drawer of body lotions/butters/moisturisers that I don't think I'll ever get to the bottom of. However, the quality of the products this month is something I can't fault. I definitely feel I've got my moneys worth and I've received some products I know I'm already going to repurchase therefore overall I guess this month was a pretty good box.

Lots of Love
