Cohorted Beauty Box Review - September 2016

by - 11:37:00

After being a loyal Glossybox subscriber I've finally admitted to myself that it's not worth the money anymore. I kept getting such similar products each month which consisted of moisturises, hair care and nail vanish's with the occasionally eye shadow or lip gloss. Honestly, I'd say 3 in 10 products I'd actually make use of.

I did a lot of research into which beauty box I should subscribe to and came across Cohorted which I'd never heard of before. Now it is more expensive than the usual beauty boxes at a price of £35 but reading other customers reviews, it really seems worth every penny.

The first item I opened was the Cargo Land Down Under Eye Shadow Palette which retails at £35. I'm fed up of all the nude eye shadow palettes so this was such a pleasant surprise to see the bright blues and green in there. I feel like I can finally be adventurous with my eyeshadow and try out some new tricks. It also comes with an eye liner and a double ended brush with the softest bristles. There is a range of matte's and shimmers which look like they will compliment each other nicely. I can't wait to get stuck in and to start using this.

I've never been one for trying out new mascara's as I find one that I feel suits my lashes and stick with it, these tend to be from a drug store. For my birthday the girls & guys at work bought me some MAC Goodies and within that was a mascara and since then I've been in love with it so I was extra pleased to see another mini MAC mascara to try out! This one is the MAC False Lashes in Extreme Black and the brush has a nice curve on the end which means it's good to get the inner corner lashes which I usually just ignore to save the wiping up of my eye lids and nose afterwards. The full size version of this product retails at a price of £19 which I have a feeling I may be splashing out on for my next mascara.

Now in all honestly when I saw another nail vanish which is one of the many items I've been trying to get away from after subscribing to Glossybox I was a little disappointed. I personally don't use nail polish's as I have my own Gel kit and do Gel nails instead. However, upon further inspection the colour is such a lovely shade of pink and I may actually be tempted to paint my toes with it. The Kure Bazaar French Rose Nail Polish can be bought for £15, the formula for this nail vanish has up to 85% natural ingredients one of which being potatoes!

The final two products are again the sort of stuff I've been trying to move away from but after studying them I've over the moon with them. For starters, a girl can never have too much dry shampoo as you never know when you're going to need it. The No Fuss Fabulousness Dry Shampoo is worth £12, I'm not sure how it compares to other dry shampoo's because in my eyes, they all do the same job. I'm hoping it really will give me that just washed look and last longer for the price it costs.

The Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Overnight Recovery is something I would avoid on a normal basis. I don't enjoy putting on hair masks or hair products in general as I feel my hair can be so prone to grease that products just instantly give me that chip pan greasy hair look. After reading the back of the bottle, it's not one of them products you have to sit and wait around for, you simply put it on dry hair at bed time, you start by massaging it into your scalp and then spread it around your hair accordingly, after a few seconds it's gone and you can go to sleep and leave it to work it's magic and you just have to then wash it off in the morning. This is the first time I'm actually excited to try a hair product out! The has a value of £18.

I can't work out whether I'm just forcing myself to like the products I've received because of the price I paid for this box or whether it means I'm more focused on trying them and using them because I've spent so much money. Whether I've forced myself to fake it or not, I can honestly say it's worked as I believe I am 100% happy with this box and already eager to receive my October one.

Thank you Cohorted bringing some excitement to my glum Wednesday.
